Reading novels is a good habit because it takes you to another world. But have you ever tried writing? Oh! The pleasure of finishing a beautiful article!

Writing takes us places. I mean just think about this. There's nothing like Harry potter in the real world but how did JK Rowling come up with such an idea! Such is the human capacity! So why waste it? There are so many stories left untold and many more world left to be explored.

I had a friend who had nothing to do with writing initially but had a bad equation with his father and thus, anger management issues! So his mother asked him to start maintaining a diary. He followed her instructions and started writing everything in his diary like some special memories that he had with his girlfriend, fights with his best friend, love that he received from his mother and sister and things that he was unable to share with anyone. There was a major improvement in his management of anger. So the point is, writing is also a therapy. It heals the pain.

But it can also act as a sword if it is used against someone. At times, it is so powerful that it can kill someone! The hate messages that the terrorists spread are the kinds of writings that should never be encouraged.

Then there are ways in which you can earn by writing. For example, writing a script for a movie, ad or providing content for a website, etc.

At times, writing can bring about a revolution. Remember our freedom fighters? Especially the ones who chose non violence as their mode of getting freedom. It's through their written work that they could spread messages of patriotism which helped in reinforcing the movement.

Simple things like a To Do list, making charts to memorize, making notes, etc. are also ways in which writing helps. How can we forget the sticky notes on refrigerator that our mother uses to remind us many things or the ones that are stuck on our study table or cupboard which work like motivation for us during our bad days.

Try making a pen and a paper your best friends for a change! They will never leave you alone :)
