Embrace the chaos.
We all have our own demons inside our heads. Each ones is just as scary as the others. Yet we being humans use the worldly pleasures to make our senses numb. We hide the demons and chaos within us under many veils and masks. We put them away for another day. Yes, they scare us so we put it all away. Just like a vast never ending ocean scares us because we can’t determine where it ends, the idea of chaos scares us.
All we have ever done is try to make order out of all the chaos and putting it under the rug. We assigned ‘THE GODS’ the duty of justifying all the chaos. In Greek Mythology, the primeval deities Gaia, Tartarus, Erebus, and Nyx all came out or were born of the first being CHAOS.
Newton’s world is a linear one, where you get out exactly what you put in or a direct proportion of it. A smooth way of justifying a change. An orderly way. But chaos changes things drastically. It’s a very unstable idea that almost none of us wish to pursue. Chaos isn’t bad. It’s how we define it that makes it bad. Chaos is nothingness. A place or idea that has no solid ground or settling.
The Oxford dictionary defines it as a state of complete confusion and disorder. Its origin from the Greeks explains it to be a void or a vast chasm. Physics tells that it is the property of a complex system whose behaviour is so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in conditions. Nowhere do we have a clear explanation on what this term is. Are we a part of it or is it a part of us? We’ve lived our lives so far blocking it out. But what if it’s exactly where we belong or what if it tells us more about our origin and where we’re meant to go? Or what if it’s nothing at all but just that one second or less of time in our lives where we are lost. We have attributed negative things to chaos like war, destruction, depression, and many other things. Our movies and books have always described the idea of chaos to be dark and scary. We are wired to think of it that way. All of our stories are surreal and ends with order or happiness. The hero saves the day and everyone is back to their duties. Is that what happens? What if the hero doesn’t save the day? What if nothing goes back to being normal? What if everything is in a state of chaos? How bad do you think it would be? We as humans get the nerves and obviously will allow it to fill us up with anxiety and fear. But once we learn how to control it, we’ll be able to achieve more than just order in our lives. We’ll be able to coexist with the most ancient feeling, idea, being, state, I’m referring to chaos. We’ll be able to live without fear of our demons or the dark side.
