Photography is all about telling stories. That’s my personal point of view. As an amateur photographer, I have felt it is mostly about ‘what’ the eyes see, rather than ‘how’ they see it. The several technicalities like exposure, depth-of-field, white balance, color, and all are secondary when I personally evaluate a particular photograph.

The new genre of street photography that has recently come up to popularity is a very impressive theme. The street photographers of some good merit are able to tell a five hundred word story, with just the expense of noise, that we call shutter. Maybe a perfect photographer’s brilliant shot might be able to replace this article too!

If we take into account the kind of shots taken in this genre, we will find scraps of rustic life. Mostly they are a frozen frame of the daily phenomenon, and good photographers do a commendable job to get the paraphernalia just right.

Photography at present is a much-coveted profession. I won’t term it a passion for everyone carrying a DSLR camera. Money can buy one a camera or a smartphone, but as of now, money has yet not been able to get you a true photographer’s eye, that can find a great image from the most commonplace situation. Street photography is almost like finding a hairpin in a haystack, and when you find, it’s a golden one. All the efforts are fructified when a picture of a greengrocer selling at a bazaar can tell you all his daily struggles… all his efforts… all his stories.

When you capture a smile of a beggar girl, licking an ice-cream, that someone just gifted her, you capture a frame of aesthetic humanity, in your artificial snapper.

According to me, photography can be an instrumental medium to spread love and happiness in the world. Street photography can be a very powerful mode if we can pick up randomly and showcase little fragments of ingenuity in our daily life to the rest of the world. I believe strongly that in the near future that every little smile of every beggar girl will be inflated to the general beholders.

Photography is all about telling stories.

Preferably, Happy Ones.
