Located at the southern tip of the New York state, this city is one of the world’s most popular megacities. New York City is located on the world’s largest natural harbour, it consists of five boroughs each of it makes a separate country in the New York state. The five boroughs include Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island which were later consolidated into a single city.

The diversity here is proven by the fact that more than 800 Languages are spoken in this city making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world. Being the home to 3.2 million residents born outside the United States making it the largest foreign-born population in the world. It also houses the highest number of billionaires than any other city. It has also been described as the Financial, Cultural and the Media capital of the world as it exerts a notable impact on commerce, entertainment, research, technology, tourism, art, fashion and sports.

New York City is also an important centre for International diplomacy as the headquarters of the United Nations is also located here. It also proves to be the symbol of Freedom and Cultural Diversity.

Any time of year and any time of day or night there are an endless array of things to see and do in New York.

The greatest American icon and the world’s largest statue is the symbol of freedom “Statue of Liberty”. You can take a short boat trip to Liberty Island or stop at Ellis Island exploring the Immigration Museum. Ellis Island has been the place where 12 million immigrants entered the United States from Europe and the rest of the world.

Times Square is located in Central Manhattan and is termed as “The Crossroads of the World”. It is also the location of the famous “Ball Drop” at midnight during New Year eve celebrations. This place has its own unique appeal with the neon signs blazing, the music originating from the in vogue bars and bistros making it a most loved destination for occupants and voyagers alike.

People often see the real-life celebrities here and in case they don’t, they can always see their wax replicas in Madame Tussauds Wax Works. The area is best known for its shopping scenes with everyone’s favourite Forever21 store and the Disney store.

The Empire State Building is one of New York's most famous landmark buildings and key tourist attractions and the 86th-floor observatory is the city highest open-air observation deck. The Empire State Building is the most acclaimed skyscraper in Manhattan, it was also the tallest building on the plant till 1972.

Metropolitan Museum of Art housed in an outstanding structure, built around medieval cloisters, chapels, and halls, focuses on the medieval art and architecture of Europe contains more than two million works of art.

You can also walk across the world’s first steel suspension bridge which is the Brooklyn Bridge, which is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and has inspired generations of poets, songwriters, and painters.

You can also get Beautiful views over Manhattan, the East River and beyond to the Statue of Liberty from the Bridge.

There’s definitely more to this bustling city like the Belvedere Castle, Strawberry Fields, the Central Park Zoo, Fifth Avenue, New York Public Library, Wall Street, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and many more.

Some iconic dishes which you should definitely try here are Gnocchi (a form of Pasta), Ramen, Fiery Cocktails, Shawarma Platter, NY style Pizza, Spumoni and Cheesecakes.

New York is always a whirlwind of activity and for sure an added city to my Bucket List. Perhaps the best shopping in the United States can be found here with luxury clothing shops and you can even flock to New York for its countless museums and galleries.
