Do you ever wonder where all the food that you eat comes from? Well it might surprise you that a significant proportion is provided by bees in one way or another. If you take a closer look on the dinner servers, bees have been playing a pivotal role in pollinating the many vegetables and fruits we eat directly, or pollinating the food for the animals that we then eat. Apart from that honey and wax are two other important products that come due to the courtesy of bees.

These tiny little creatures help in pollination where we are finding a lot of different species of fauna around the globe. Isn’t it fascinating to know that they are the primary source of our sustenance? Their ultimate goal is to collect honey from different flowers that are available, withy that they carry this pollen and store them in a small cell in their honey comb. Nurse worker bees are the ones who guard the young bees that are protected safe inside each cell. So more than us as we think we are the alma mater, they work really hard for us to survive and live with our families with a beautiful environment.

The head of a bee hive is always a queen bee, there is no king bee males (also called drone bees) who fertilise the queen bees. I am glad that at least in one specie in the animal kingdom we have queen bees who dominate the rest- just kidding. You might get a crazy feeling that why am I talking about bees today. It’s a simple logic- all the living creations on earth are interdependent with each other. The fate of the drone bees are short lived as once they fertilize the queen bee, they die serving their purpose.

Many of us fail to understand that all living beings are inter linked with each other and humans as well are always dependent on the animals and insects around them for their survival. The true literal value for creation is when we realise that we are inferior to other creatures only then we will be able to protect our environment and can enjoy the fruitfulness of nature. When you hear the buzzing of bees and insects never see them as disgusting creatures because we are the guests to this environment but they are the ancestors who have survived from the dawn of the earth and will multiply their dynasty in order to protect and save gard us.

But honey bees are disappearing globally at an alarming rate due to pesticides, parasites, diseases and habitat loss. If these little insects that help provide so much of the food we eat vanish, what would we do without them? Just a gentle reminder, even if we want a candle in order to light our home and to diminish the darkness they are needed. Hence, every life in earth is precious and valuable. Never underestimate your co-creation, its because of them we exist. Dedicated with love to our mother earth. Happy earth day!!!
