Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow with gold at both ends. - Author-Poet Aberjhani.

These days a lot of people are talking about this new term known as “self-love”. Let’s understand what does it mean. It refers to the belief you hold that you are a valuable and worthy person.

It can be subjective, according to our own perception. For some people it might be, following a perfectly planned schedule successfully which would include their exercise/ work. While others may focus on appreciating themselves for being on the right track or doing little things apart from their regular schedule, to make themselves happy. It can be reading a book/ playing guitar/ going for a walk.

Today, I am going to write about my perspective, of self-love and how can one embrace it.

Firstly, we need to have a deep connection with our highest selves and unswerving ability to forgive our lowest. Its when we are at your highest level and everything in our life is going great, we should appreciate ourselves. And at the same time when we hit the rock bottom, we need to forgive our self and plan a way back up.

We should appreciate the fact that how special we are, that there will never be anyone exactly like us. Each one of us has his/ her unique set of talents, which gives us our own different way of being in the world. We all have our own unique realty and our own paths of living.

We need to drown ourselves into affirmations. Trust me, looking into the mirror, reciting them gives us positive energy. Even leaving small notes around, in the house can make us joyful.

Taking some time out to pursue the things you love doing apart from your usual work can be a stress buster.Often with increasing responsibilities on our head, we forget to take time out, just for ourselves, pursuing our favourite hobbies be it reading, singing, cycling or any other thing which gives us happiness.

It has been said that comparison is the fastest way to take all the fun out of life. Many times, when we do something cool which makes us proud and we feel like we are on the top of the world and suddenly we see somebody else doing the similar thing, much better than us takes away all our happiness. It is none of our business what the other people are doing. All that matters is that we are enjoying our self and pleased with what we have created.

Learn to forgive yourself. We have screwed up in the past. We will screw up in the future. Every human is born with the ability to make astonishing mistakes. Don’t turn them into self-criticism instead learn from your mistakes and move on.

Lastly, love yourself!
