Think finding a career means resigning yourself to some dull, predictable, monotonous grind that a million other people are already shackled to? Think again. It turns out there are wild, weird, interesting jobs literally all around us. I am here to tell you about some bizarre, overlooked ways real people are earning a living.

1) "Professional Cuddlers" (cause why not, right?)

Professional cuddlers get paid to cuddle strangers and make them feel good in a totally platonic way. The cuddle sessions are considered "therapeutic" and sometimes involve activities like hand holding, synchronized breathing and eye gazing.

2) Greensman

Both the real and artificial plants on a film set are handled by a greensman. Shooting a film can take months, and they have to maintain the landscape for the entire time.

3) Moirologists

Moirologists, or professional mourners are paid to grieve and comfort families at funerals. It's not a new profession. The practice of professional mourning dates back to ANCIENT EGYPT!!!

4) Netflix Tagger ( still don't understand the point of this, but oh well.)

A Netflix tagger gets paid to watch netflix all day. They're the ones who make sure every movie and TV show is tagged accurately. They're also responsible for giving names to the category titles in the recommendation section.

5) Professional Cat Catcher

If your cat refuses to get into a pet carrier for a trip to the vet or groomer, you can call someone. Professional cat catchers make a living by wrangling unruly cats and putting them in pet carriers.

6) Dog Surfing Coach ( as if cat catchers weren't enough)

Dog surfing coaches are people who know their way around the board and also have the coolest job in the world. The most talented pets have their own surfing championships, where they can show all the skills they've learnt.

7) Freelance Writers (FOR FORTUNE COOKIES!)

Freelance writers are hired every couple of years to compose brand new messages for fortune cookies by the world's largest fortune cookie manufacturer: Wonton Food, Inc.
