Scientific Name: Amorphophallus Titanum(Titan Arum)

Titan Arum can only be found in the steep hillsides of rainforest in Sumatra. It takes 4-10 years to bloom and is a major tourist attraction. It blooms only for a short period. It gives a very foul smell like rotting flesh so it’s not a good choice for homes. Also called the mother of all the flowers, it can grow up to 3 meters high. These flowers eat dead flesh and their colour and smell are to attract these insects. This flower is classified as “vulnerable” under the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

2.Angel Orchid

Scientific Name: Coelogyne Cristata

It comes from Eastern Himalayas and Vietnam because of their cool areas. These flowers are a delight to the eyes. They get their name because of the resemblance of an angel wearing a gown. They have a pleasant fragrance and are ideal for the home. They are short in size with only 5 inches tall in height. It is one of the most precious flowers in the orchid world.

3.Dragon Flower Or Snapdragon

Scientific Name: Antirrhinum

This flower has derived its name from the resemblance of the flower to a dragon’s head. When the flower dies, it just looks like a skull. Ancient cultures believe that these flowers hold supernatural flowers and whose garden is full of this flower perform witchcraft. Also, it was believed that women who ate them can regain their youthfulness. This flower is native to rocky areas of Europe, the United States, and North America. This flower comes in a wide variety and colour. Snapdragons are also loved by children who love to squeeze the sides of the flower to see the dragon’s mouth open and close.

This charming and extremely colourful plant resembles the claws of a lobster. It has a beauty of its own. Lobster Claw is also called parrot flower. It is found in Central to South America and Pacific Ocean islands. This extraordinary species may not thrive in cold conditions. They can grow up to 15 feet tall. They also make an excellent cut flower. Many species of insects also feed upon them. They are widely used as ornamental plants.

This very astonishing flower is known for its nocturnal blooming activities. It is native to India, Sri Lanka, Japan, China and Latin American countries. It’s a rare species of a flower that is surrounded by stories and folklore. In India, it is called “Brahma Kamalam”, named after Lord Brahma. People believe making a wish while the flower is blooming gets fulfilled. This flower along with the unique blooming time is charming as well.
