Back in 2017 it was revealed by Salman himself in an interview given to Vogue that he first met Katrina when she was just 18 years of age.” It was a small get – together. From the time Katrina stepped into Bollywood she was rumoured to be dating the “ Prem” of the country, Salman Khan. The reasons because of which the duo who were apparently dating each other broke up was that Katrina fell in love with Ranbir Kapoor when she worked with him in the Raj Kumar Santoshi directed Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. That was the first time when Salman felt that he was being cheated upon by Katrina . Katrina denies being in a relationship with Salman Khan but who knows about the reality! During the struggle days of Katrina Kaif, Salman helped her a lot by giving her ' Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya which fetched her a high amount of recognition from not only the industry but also from the public. Salman did everything in order to build the career of Katrina and he insured that she’d be a Bollywood star one day by referring her to some big directors of the tinsel town. It is said by Bollywood experts that Katrina left Salman after she attained the name and famein the industry, she left Salman for the heart throb of the country, Ranbir Kapoor.

Katrina kept working alongside Salman in the films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and now Bharat as they both shared a relationship of friendship post breakup. Katrina was the first choice of Salman as the female lead for Bharat after Priyanka Chopra dropped out of the film at the last moment. Talking about thecurrent equation with Salman khan, Katrina said that over the years her equation with Salman has evolved. The journey from Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya to Bharat has been an experience from which she has learnt a lot.
