She felt as if she was left behind. It’s a strange society where the efforts of mother and wife are not appreciated!

Jane Beryl Wilde Hawking who is shortly called as Jane Hawking and for 30 years her life closely revolved around being called the wife of Stephen Hawking. And certainly most would feel that she is lucky for the fame she got because she was his wife. But most of the time, it might have loopholes in it.

But it was not really lucky for her. Most would think that how she can let go of a chance to be the wife of such a famous figure.

Jane Wilde, a young girl fell in love with Mr. Hawking. Before getting married she knew he was detected with such a disease. Yet she decided to commit and married him knowing that he won’t survive long. Miraculously he survived and became an example of the most fruitful lives one can ever live.

But what happened to her in the midst of all this! She has said in her interviews that she never felt any burden while serving Hawking. But life was always patriarchal. Her efforts were not appreciated by the society she felt.

She felt as if she was left behind. It’s a strange society where the efforts of mother and wife are not appreciated!

As time passed, Stephen became more famous and she felt shadowed completely. Before the birth of her third child, she felt she must complete her Phd. Just before 2 days of her delivery she completed her Phd. She said it was very difficult to handle household at the same time look after children and a disabled husband plus complete her doctorate.

Hence now she is not only Jane but now she is Dr. Jane. I would appreciate Jane as a person. I call her timeless melody because her sacrifices appear to be tuned in like one. We often find accepting husbands of very successful woman getting jealous of their spouse. But we cannot see the same in case of a wife of a successful man. We expect her to be submissive and feel happiest or even lucky. I respect her because she is one of the first women to speak about it. I respect her as a human being who didn’t give up on the person she loved only because he was ill. She married him and proved her love. She separated only when it was too much for her to take.

I appreciate her. I completely do!
