The Curious Case Of Aarushi Talwar

Of the most talked of crime and murder cases in the recent past, the curious case of Aarushi Talwar stands out.

A 14 year girl,only daughter to the dentist couple-Dr. Rajesh Talwar and Dr. Nupur Talwar was found murdered in their flat in Noida. All the while the main door being locked from inside.

When Aarushi's body was discovered, the missing servant,Hemraj was the main suspect. However, the next day, his partially decomposed body was found on the terrace.

After ruling out the prime suspects, the suspicion turned to the Aarushi's parents -Dr.Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar.

The police suspected that Rajesh had murdered after finding the two in "objectionable" position and backfire accusations from the Talwar's that the policehad framed them to cover up their botched up investigation.

The case was then transferred to the CBI, assumed that Krishna thadarani and other two domestic servants had committed the murder after an attempted sexual assault and Hermaj for being a witness. However, owing to dubious methods of confession extraction and all the three men were released due to lack of solid evidence.

In November, 2013,the talwars were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The Talwars challenged the decision in the Allahabad court.
Finally, on October, 2017,the court acquitted them, calling the evidence unsatisfactory, criticising the police,CBI and the media for improper investigation.

Like any other murder case, spilled with uncertainty,the only thing made certain was the incapability of the senior police officers to seal the scene of crime and consequent failure of investigating agencies and scientific technology.

The case remains unsolved to this day.
