As per a study, everyday an average person speaks almost 20,000 words conveying our ideas, thoughts, feelings etc. We decide what words we use to express ourselves. Our words leave a great impact on people. There are several ways of saying the same thing, for example you can tell a person to shut up which in turn would make them feel bad and it will definitely affect your relationship with them or you can simply ask them to stay silent in a polite way, your choice of words makes a huge difference. The words that we speak define us, that is why it is said that we must always think before we speak, because once our words have been spoken, we cannot take them back. The damage that they are supposed to do will have been done. And hence we must always evaluate whatever we are going to say and what consequences they might have. They have the power to make things right or destroy everything at once. Your words can cause damage that no amount of apologies can fix. Words have more power to destroy relationships than anything else.

Some people speak so much that half of what they speak doesn't make any sense, and the other half that does makes sense, now becomes futile because they have created an image of themselves that whatever they speak is useless. And people rarely want to listen to those who have a great deal of words to say but their words have no weight. That is why it is preferred to stay silent. Speak only when you know your words are wise and will have a positive impact.

And the above not only goes for the words we speak, but also for what we write. Write what makes people wanna read it. We often tend to write anything that we feel and share it with people, sometimes it may not be very useful, it affects our readers. One writeup that isn't good enough will make your readers turn away from your writings. Whatever you write has a great impact on your readers. If they are influenced by your writing, they tend to believe in what you write. So don't just write anything, write what is true and can make a change.

So never take words for granted, they have great power. Understand the power that they have so that you don't speak just anything. Speak wisely or not at all.
