It goes without saying that all of us are under a constant scanner. Someone or the other is constantly evaluating us for the work we do, and for the efforts we put in. In the process of improving at what someone’s work is, there are many hindrances, failure being one and the society, being the other.
Traditionally speaking, failure is when we are not able to reach our aim or goal. But I think that failure is more accurately defined as something that helps us grow. I don’t feel that “Failures define you” is an accurate thing to say, because they do not. But we cannot totally negate them out because even though they do not define us, they do shape us. So they do have an integral part in our lives and I am pretty sure that most of us have already been told that.
Failure is all about perspective. Some see it as a as stepping stone on their journey towards their goal while some just stop. No matter what the magnitude of your failure is, there is nothing that you can’t do which will not help you get back in the hustle, stronger and better. Giving up is an option, but let it be an option that we do not choose.
I have seen so many people question their self worth simply because of the way some people have treated them. To be clear, a toxic or confused person’s actions are not the determinants of the potential you have. You are enough the way you are, and honestly who cares if you are not enough for others? Because first, you need to learn to think that you are enough for yourself. If someone makes you feel that you are not enough and is giving more of non-constructive criticism of your actions.
When you fail, you might get the thought that everything is over and you would be stuck in the mess forever. But the truth is, it is actually a start, an avenue for you to understand things differently. While failure is necessary to keep us rooted and to remind us how nothing comes easy, I am nowhere trying to justify or glorify it. You need to realize that people cannot define you, in fact no one can. You are someone who is beautifully complex and while both failures and society have the power to drag you down, you are stronger than both of them.
