Dance is an art form, a recreation for us humans when bored or just for fun. The movement of our bodies from our toes to the tip of our hairs in a rhythmic fluid motion; where the dancer just drowns in the music feeling it his soul & is expressing it in their motion. Dance is an aesthetic artsy form of expression can be used to show emotions, drama, energies, to communicate, tell a tale (an epic story), for delight, recreation & exercise as well. It mostly consists of symbols & gestures to create an aura of aww & enjoyment (any emotion that is needed for the performance).
Dancer is known for their different & exquisite forms to channel bodily energy (according to Indian mythology) from Lord Shiva; in a way, they draw their energy from worshipping by dancing. In the modern era it the choreography that makes all the difference; a well-choreographed dance performed after intense practice can be extremely overwhelming to start with, it also presents the impulsiveness the dance as an art possesses. Although Indian dance forms are more about their dramatic expression with all the pain & makeup & masks on (Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Ledisi, bhangra, etc.) where they tell folklores, myths & truths about Gods & other mythological creature. Western dance has been more of an abstract & subtle dance mostly Ballet it is about the perfection in style, display of skills (not referring to theatre dance, pure dancing).
Celebrating these dances & their forms is important after all this is a non-verbal language, International Dance Day is observed on the 29th of April. It was created by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) & the UNESCO (United Nations Education Science & Cultural Organisation) plays a huge role in supporting it through its performing arts committee. The date twenty-ninth was carefully selected as it is the birth date of Jean-Georges Noverre, he created Ballet d’ action which considered as the pioneering ballet in the modern ballet. The International Dance Day is being observed ever since 1982, to celebrate this event member of the dancing community from across the world meet to have Gala in the honor of the day. The Gala Celebration takes place in different countries whoever's turn it is to host the Gala, like in 2017 was in Shanghai, China & in 2018 it was held in Havana, Cuba; this years location will soon be known.
