Most of the population in India love cricket, but I'm here to tell you otherwise, it's football. Its the best game in the world. Football is a game which was founded in England and is now played in all of the continents of the world, except Antarctica.

Football is a game which comprises of two teams which have 11 players each. Each team can have a maximum of six substitutes, from which only three are allowed to be substited. It is played for 90 minutes. These 90 minutes are divided into two halfs of 45 minutes each. A break of 15 minutes is given at the half called half time break.

Football is a game which is being embraced everywhere in the world and it is slowly and steadily growing in India alo. The growth of football in India can be mostly attributed to a few names, they are Bhaichung Bhutia and Sunil Chettri , among others. These two, in particlar are most responsible for growth of football in India because they started playing at a time when India was not woken up to football yet. Both Bhaichung and Sunil played for international clubs like Sporting Lisbon, Melbourne Victory FC, Kansas City Wizards. They helped in motivating the youth to take up football and try to make a living out of it. Today by the help of investments by many of Indian businessmen and actors, Indian Super League (ISL) wasformed, which is one of the top ten leagues in the world if viewership is considered. Slowly and steadily, The Indian National Team is also getting better under the leadership of Sunil Chettri.

Europe is home to some of the biggest leagues of the world, which include powerhouses like English Premier League of England, La Liga of Spain, Serie A of Italy and Ligue 1 of France, the biggest superstars of the world play in these league which include names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Pogba and many more.

USA also has a huge developing league which is called the Major League Soccer which is being joined by many big superstars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Robbie Keane, Andrea Pirlo etc. Brazil and Agentina also have leagues which are famous all over the world. Some of the famous teams there are Boca Juniors, Sao Paolo etc.

What makes football a worldwide phenomenon?

Football is the best game in the world because it has the most fan following. The whole of Europe and South Americaconsider football a religion and now other markets like Asia and North America are investing in football too. What makes this game interesting is that it only takes 90 minutes for the game tofinish, unlike cricket which can take from one day to five days. Furthermore the leagues in football are very popular and the players who play in this league are known world wide and they attract a lot of attention towards the game. There are no breaks during the game other than the half time which always keeps the fans engaged. The Clubs in these Leagues have the most loyal fan bases which make this a very enjoyable and a loving affair.
