Design

Larger than the last year's model, the HP Spectre x360 (2019) is way more beautiful than its 2018 processor. The brand has done some subtle changes in this model and most noticeably, the top left and right corners, which are now diagonal. The power button is lying on the left-hand corner and right side sports the USB-C port. The speaker grille is at the top of the keyboard which is again supplied by Bang & Olufsen. Below the keyboard, there is a fingerprint sensor that allows you to get into your machine quickly. The touchpad lies under the keyboard and is large enough for decent usage. At times, it isn't as responsive as it should have been.

Talking about the keyboard, it is great and offers decent key travel. There is no Numpad still and this allows other keys to sit comfortably in the space. There is a decent array of ports on the device including a single full-size USB-A 3.1 port, two USB-C ports, an audio jack port, a microSD port, and a physical switch to switch cam on/off.

There is a 360-degree hinge for its screen which allows the laptop to transform into a tablet. You can also set it up in Tent mode i.e inverted V. Thanks to its top build quality, the hinge is solid and you don't have to worry about any damages while transforming or inverting the screen.

Display

Coming to the display, the HP Spectre x360 (2019) is a 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD display that’s 13.3 inches in size. It is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. It is a touchscreen display that works fine when you are using it with fingers actually. Also, this display has the HP Sure View technology, which can control the viewing angles. This feature can be turned on and off using the F1 button on the keyboard. The device also comes with a 4K screen but it comes at a hefty price.

Performance

Under the hood, the new HP Spectre x360 (2019) boasts an Intel Core i7-8565U processor and 8GB of RAM. You throw anything at it - it can handle it with smoothness. Transition between laptop and tablet is quicker and we feel no stutter or lags while doing that. The Intel Core i7-8565U is an 8th generation processor with four cores and eight threads. It is having a base frequency of 1.80GHz that boosts up to 4.60GHz. It also packs Intel UHD Graphics 620 integrated graphics.

HP's 2-in-1 is not powerful to run high-end games but it can edit videos and photos very well. Talking about day-to-day usage, the HP Spectre x360 (2019) performed exceptionally - can handle anything and everything.

Battery life

HP has talked a lot about the battery life of this year's Spectre x360 and they had a big reason to do it as it works an impressively long time. On the battery benchmarks, while playing a 1080p video playback on 50% brightness, it lasted for 12 hours and 37 minutes. And, for an ultrabook like this, it is a whopping number. It has even beaten Dell XPS 13 (2019)'s 8 hours and 10 minutes - which we thought was a great number. Without trading performance, the company has able to produce a powerhouse battery. And, it is impressive. Checkout latest gadgets updates with us, where you can also find more information about Fresher Jobs news available in private section.

If you are a general user, then it can give you ten hours at ease and that is one whole day of office work -what else do you want. Not to forget, it is a massive improvement than last year's 7 hours and 30 minutes battery.

Final Verdict

HP has created something magnificent and it is the best Spectre x360 so far. If not the best, one of the best 2-in-1, hands down! The new refined design and internal upgrades have made it a solid performer. If you are looking for a 2-in-1 laptop in the market, there is nothing that can stop you from buying this piece. But, if you are not after 2-in-1 as it comes at a premium price, you can resist buying it then. Else, it is the one for your 2-in-1 needs.
