 After a very long adventurous journey, Dorothy, toto, the scarecrow, tin man, and lion finally arrived at the beautiful emerald city, where they hoped to meet the wizard of Oz. there was a big gate, studded with emeralds. Dorothy pushed the button of the bell beside the gate and heard a silvery tinkle from within. then a guard came there.

(at the place)

guard: what do you wish in the emerald city? go away, no one is allowed to get even near the palace.

Dorothy: oh! please let us come in. we have come to look for the wizard of Oz to help us.

guard: who send you here?

Dorothy, scarecrow, tin man, lion: the north witch. look at these shoes.

guard: let me see what I can do. wait here.

 (after a while, the guard came back and finally opened the door.)

guard: come in. go straight through the hall, turn to the right. you will find a red door. open it and there you will find the wizard.

Dorothy: oh, thank you.

(they entered the palace and as soon as they were inside the palace, a wizard appeared from behind a big mirror that was in the wall.)

wizard: what do you want? how dare you come to my palace and bother me? I hope what you have to say is important; otherwise, you will regret it.

Dorothy: I am Dorothy, the small and meek. I have come to you for help.

(then the tin man, the scarecrow, and the lion also requested Oz to help them fulfill their wishes.)

wizard: very well. I will help you but on one condition. you have to kill the wicked witch of the west and then only all your problems will be solved.

tinman: how?

wizard: when you destroy the witch, you will get your heart, the lion will get courage and the scarecrow will get his brain.

Dorothy: and me?

wizard: then, and only then, will the north witch tell you how you can go home. now go!

(then left the palace and started their journey looking for the evil witch. after a long walk, they reached a beautiful garden. they were all tired and slept there. the wicked witch of the west had but one eye, yet it was as powerful as a telescope and she could see everywhere. she sent all sorts of evil creatures to kill them. at last, the scarecrow and the tin man were deeply wounded and the lion was held captive by some evil-winged monkeys. they took Dorothy, who had little toto in her arms, with them without causing her any harm.)

witch of the west: you are in my palace. come with me and see that you mind everything I tell you, for if you do not, I will do the same to you, as I did to the tin man and the scarecrow. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! now give me those silver shoes.

Dorothy: no! I will not give them to you.

witch of the west: ha! ha! ha! ha! you will be easily destroyed. I will cast a spell on you.

Dorothy: stop it!

(suddenly Dorothy saw a bucket of water that was on the floor. in anger, she took it and threw it at the witch. Dorothy did not know that water would make the witch disappear.)

witch of the west: no! no! no! no! what have you done! I am melting, melting, Mel... oh! oh! oh! oh on! look out-here I go!

(Dorothy unlocked the gate of the prison and set the lion free.)

lion: if our friends, the scarecrow and the tin man, were only with us, I should be quite happy.

(Dorothy had set free all the winkies, who in turn helped them to rescue their friends. they went to Oz, who fulfilled his promise. now the scarecrow had a brain, the tin man had a heart and the lion courage.)

Dorothy: now that we have destroyed the evil witch, we will get what we need.

(suddenly, the north witch appeared.)

Dorothy: oh, good witch, please help me! now everybody has got what he wished for, except me. help me go home, please.

north witch: oh Dorothy! the power is inside you all along. the shoes that you wearing can take you anywhere you wish to go. all you have to do is tap your heels together three times, and say to yourself, 

'there's no place like home...

'there's no place like home...

'there's no place like home.

Dorothy: oh, but first I have to say goodbye to my friends. oh my good friends I will miss you so much.

scarecrow: I will miss you too. and thanks to you, my brain will help me think of you and never forget you

tinman: and me, I will keep you in my heart.

lion: and I will always have the courage to fight in your name.

north witch: are you ready?

Dorothy: yes:

north witch: now close your eyes and do as I have told you.

Dorothy: (taking toto in her arms and tapping her heels)

(Dorothy swirled and whirled higher and higher until she found herself again in Kansas.)

Dorothy: where am I?

uncle henry: you're home.

Dorothy: I am at the home! it was all a dream. oh, dear uncle and aunt, I love you so much. I thought I would never see you again.

uncle henry and aunt em: (hugging Dorothy) we love you too.
