Is there really a need to hide the Scars?

Scars are the marks that we are left to succumb. Some of the scars come into the notice of people while some others may not.The invisible scars are safe inside us; we can easily deal with them as they are beyond the vision of people. We don’t pay much attention on them. So why do we pay so much attention to those visible scars? Why are we so much worried of the visible scars, all the time? Why are we scared to wear those scars?

The stereotypes are so ingrained in our society that they havestructured the notion of many things for us. This society has already conditioned our minds in such a way that we never put efforts to think differently. For example- we have bound the term scar with ugliness and beauty with fairness, lack of pimples and marks. I don’t love pimples either but I don’t allow them to make me feel inferior, miserable, tensed. We often see many pictures captioned as ‘Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder’. Do we really mean it? We are all following the set conventions by society which doesn’t seem to be so respectful or grateful to people’s scar. We criticise the person or stare every person who has scar and this thing makes it hard for them to survive. Many people are struggling with that impudence.

As a result, the survivors are also made to believe that their scars are ugly and are not worth showing to the society. They try every possible method to do away with that scar and if they are left with the permanent scar, they are forced to hide it. Their minds are obsessed about finding the remedies to get rid of the scars. It kills the spirit of living. Why do people surrender to the scars? Do they carry so much burden? Isn’t it height time that we make peace with the scars?Don’t yours scars scream of your braveness, fighting spirit, living spirit to the world?

If people will analyse it carefully then they might be able to praise the beauty of that scar. All the things that are there in the surroundings have their own merits and demerits. They are there for a purpose. And it goes same with the scars! They also have a story to tell. Be proud of these untold stories. Stop being a sheep which walks in a flock, unaware of where it is being led. Stand out of the crowd, build your opinions. Accept your scars and for a change, flaunt those scars . Be a proud mother flaunting your pregnancy scar, be a proud warrior flaunting your battle scars, be apassionate worker flaunting your rough hands, be a dedicated dancerflaunting yourroughfeet , be a hardworking employ flaunting yourwrinkles. Be confident and wear that scar with the enthusiastic spirit. Take pride on what you own.

If we talk about the famous J.K. Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter’ series, Harry Potter too had a scar and it was the scar which made him famous. Take inspiration from your favourite characters and implement them in your life.

Scars are the emotional rollercoaster journey. They are evocative. Recall your pregnancy time, war time etc. Don’t they make you remember the challenges you wentthrough, don’t they show how brave you are, don’t they make you feel how adventurous you are , don’t you perceive those scars as Victory!

Don't forget ,Every winner has a scar!
