Solution -oriented.
Positive thinking.
Search possibility.
Once a boy asked her teacher,"madam I want to be an IAS what should I do for it?".
The teacher also wanted once to be an IAS officer but could not go for it because of certain complexities. But she was very talented , fearless, thinker and possessed qualities of a leader.
The teacher answered, "son! You have time. If you really want to do it make it a point to change yourself according to the qualities required for an IAS officer. You must include three things in your life."
The boy was completely interested and asked "what are they teacher?"
She answered:"1. Be positive always. 2. Search for possibility in every situation. If you will focus on negative side you will loose the possibility part. 3. Be solution oriented. Never focus on problem but on solution."
The teacher's name was Mrs. Kailash so I call these three principles as Kailash principles.
"Write them on the first page of your diary or on front page of books so that it always revolves in your mind.", she added.
That day he wrote on the top of diary pages:
Positivity.
Solution oriented.
Possibility.
They became part of his thinking process. He solved problems, kept calm and was always happy with the three mantras given by his teacher.
Years after he became an IAS.
When some problem comes, what we instantly do? We start to focus on problem. This mindset is not in right direction. This is not forward thinking.
Why Mrs. Kailash emphasised on solution? Because an IAS encounters problem on daily basis and he needs solution.
Everything brings with it a possibility. When our focus shifts from possibility we look around for negative points. Possibility are hidden and most of us are not able to see them. What they see is only surface.
A lot has been written about positivity in books and so I will just touch it. Positivity is sweetness. You find it inside the fruit and not on the surface. So dig deeper.
