Every now and then, it is good to stop our pursuit of happiness, and actually be happy.

Isn't happiness the talk of the day?

Every where- almost every poster or advertisement or brand tries to promote the viewer's/customer's happiness through their products and services. But the question is that why is happiness so important to humanity in the first place?

An obvious answer to this question would be that Iit feels really good to be happy. Happiness and fulfillment go hand in hand. Humans constantly want to derive meaning, and therefore happiness helps one validate one's existence in the world.

Why then do so many people fail to 'achieve' this state of happiness? Is it perhaps because we are not conscious of our own state of unhappiness? Well, in my opinion, happiness is a way of life that one has to proactively develop in life.

Here are a few ways on how to work on your daily dose of happiness-

Count your blessings, as the old adage goes- Accept the good.Look at your life and take note of what’s working, and don’t push away something just because it isn’t perfect. When good things happen, even the tiny, unsignificant ones, let them in like a breeze that immediately lifts your spirits.

Literally speaking, write down what happiness means to you. Only then will you know how to look for it and engage with it in real life. Brainstorm your ideas, present your thoughts in a doodle, collage or chart, and the confusion centering around what happiness is will clear a bit.

Fake it till you make it. This is great advice, for developing confidence as well. Simply believe in your outrageously ambitious goals until you actually get a lot nearer to them due to sheer determination and willpower.

To sum up, dear reader, do what you can to make yourself a little more content, if not extremely happy, today. Because if you won't, then who will?

Cheers to life!
