I don’t quite know if men go through the same struggle of having a wardrobe full of clothes and yet having nothing to wear, but what I do know is that they do like to look good ( who doesn’t?) I did not forget the guys, who could also use a guide at dressing up as much as we girls do. For those men, here is a list of wardrobe staples that you must own to look dapper.
I cant even begin to stress how important it is to have a crisp white shirt in your closet. It is perfect for a formal look, tucked inside well-fitted trousers. It also makes for a great casual look when styles with blue distressed denims and sneakers. The versatile white colour makes all the difference and you can style it with you eyes closed.
Polo t-shirts are a great way to look casual and yet dressy at the same time. A good solid coloured polo t-shirt goes a long way, and looks great with denims as well as dark coloured trousers. Try styling bright contrasting colours like ochre yellow( which is very in this season) with denims or dark, muted shades like navy blue polos with beige coloured trousers for the best day-time and night-time look respectively.
A great accessory with almost any outfit. For those that find the white sneaker a bit intimidating, you can go for any coloured minimalist sneaks. They look great with formal as well as casual looks and gives your attire that perfect amount of swag and coolness quotient.
I don’t even have to say how important a well-fitted denim is in your closet. But darker shades of denims will prove more useful to you. I promise. The purpose of darker bottoms is to provide the right amount of contrast, and makes you look taller and leaner, while a lighter and brighter shirt or t-shirt enhances the face and body. You can pair you jeans with anything and everything so make sure, it has the perfect fit.
A slightly more dressier part of your wardrobe. A tanned leather shoe is perfect for all those formal and dressy occasions and it makes you look stylish and crisp. You can wear them with your denims or any coloured trousers. Roll up your sleeves, accessorise with a watch and the shoes shall do the rest of the work. Don’t forget to smell good because it is very important!
Apart from these absolute staples, you can also invest in a solid black t-shirt, a good plaid shirt and the mandarin collared shirts to up your glam quotient. This is my first try at men’s fashion so I really, really hope you like it. Comment if you would want me to cover any other topics. Thanks for reading.
