Let me start by explaining what does this phrase mean. Generally, we have heard of the phrase used as “Orange is the new black” which symbolizes the color black as the fashion or more prominently a style statement as one says ‘you can never go wrong with black when it comes to style’. This is used in context of a person’s life in prison, as they wear an orange outfit while being in there. So, it refers to their journey and life.
Similarly, when we say Orange is the new white- it symbolizes the life as a clean state compared to the life of that person in prison. It could be anyone- a doctor who wears a white coat while operating his patient, monks who chant and meditate to seek the answers of life, widows and widowers who just lost someone close they love and are mourning for them while looking to have a fresh start, a politician who claims to do some good deeds for his nation. It can represent anyone. It symbolizes life as it can be started anywhere, once you are reaching out to it. This is exactly why orange is the new white.
