The month of June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world.
A short poem:
Years ago,
Came the month of pride
Few supported it
And few just criticized
Who are we?
To tell if it’s normal or not
Who are we?
To stop them at any spot
Orientations don’t define a person
They’re defined by their actions
Ignoring the issue is completely wrong
By saying they‘re just a fraction
Differences will always be there
They are meant to be celebrated
Mundane would be the whole world
If everything was just kindred
If loving someone isn’t a problem
Then why people suffer
Diversity has its own strength
We should accept the 'flag of colour'
