Deserts are nothing but desolated places having rate of rain fall too less than the rate of condensation and up to the most they recieve no more than 25 centi metre rainfall in a complete year.

Main problem arises due to scarcity of vegetation in these areas, they undergo process of denudation very often and thus makes life tough for families living in those areas. They are found in approximate twenty percent region of the globe.

It is really absurd to say tha all arid places suffers scorching heat or all of them are cold, that will be unfair and totally depends on the environmental state of that region. Now, let's talk about them.

Only certain cold adapted species of mites, algae, and tundra vegetation can survive there.

Arctic Desert

It holds second spot in terms of massiveness of arid regions and it is composed of a number of islands and almost are inhabited by flora and fauna.

An interesting aspect regarding arctic is its sunshine pattern. During summer time, here sun does not set at all. For almost sixty days, sun hovers over the horizon and even at midnight you can see the sun.

These days of endless sunshine are followed by a period in which the sun does not rise at all.

Thar desert

It's better to call this spectacular place as great indian desert. In the list of massiveness of arid regions of globe, this occupies seventeenth place.
