Some mammals are being created in such a way to be acknowledged for their tremendous speed. Few of those mammals can swim, few of them fly and few of them run on the land.

Let’s have a glimpse at all these mammals.

Cheetah

How can anyone skip Cheetah while mentioning about speed?

Cheetah is expert in running fast as preys and to reach the highest pace of 112 kph. This achieved speed is 3 times more than the top running velocity of a normal human which is about 36 kph.

They can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3seconds. These are basically only big cat that can successfully turn in the mid-air while sprinting.

Cheetahs long muscular tails have a flat shape that is used for balancing and steering. It acts similarly as a rudder on a boat.

Peregrine Falcon

This is known for its high speed, infact it is tagged as one of the quickest mammal on the Earth. When it goes to hunt and it dives steeply, then it gains pace of approximate 322 kph.

Maximum horizontal cruising speed, it attained is 90 kph. This is perhaps the best hunter in the entire falcon family. Generally, it hunts in wild uplands, scanning the landscape with its exceptional eyesight.

Frigate Bird

This bird belongs to a family, Fregatidae, generally seabirds. Sometimes they are also mentioned as Man of War birds or Pirates. These possess long wings, tails and bills also.

In terms of largest wingspan to body weight ratio, they are a way ahead of other creatures. This helps them in achieving the speed of 153 km/h. They have one more strange quality i.e. they can stay up in the air for more than a week at a time.

Pronghorn Antelopes

Antelopes are considered as the second quickest land animal and the maximum speed they can attain is 98 kph. Interesting fact regarding them is that they are not very good jumpers. If there is a fence then they will prefer climbing under, instead of jumping over.

In North America, these are considered as the quickest animals. They have very large eyes, and they have the ability to see 320 degrees around.

Sail Fish

Sail fish is tagged as the world’s quickest fish, speeding through the water at 110 kph. Its body shape helps her a lot in achieving such high speeds. They can fold down their dorsal fin which reduces drag and ultimately they swim much faster than usual fishes.

They are found in both temperate waters throughout the world’s oceans. They are also known for their incredible jumps and occasionally they dive down to depths up to 350 m in search of meal.

Conclusion

As you can see, the animals mentioned above are some of the quick animals on the land, as well as in the ocean and air. These remarkable mammals are as fast as cars, we have designed to get from place to place, although most of the fastest mammals are birds.
