10 nations will fight with all guns blazing,
Just to be the number one.
While some are making plans for preparations,
Some are a step ahead; already begun.
Some players playing, players at rest,
Some working hard to again be the best.
You win it there, you'll rule the throne,
Who knows, 4 years later, this glory is gone?
While most of the international players are here, in India, playing IPL, some are playing other leagues. Some are even resting and recovering. All of this is being done just to bring the best out of the players for the upcoming World Cup. Considered as the biggest cricketing tournament in the world, ICC World Cup 2019 will be hosted by England and Wales.
Speaking of the Indian Cricket Team's preparation, before the commencement of IPL, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the latter tournament will play a crucial role in selecting player for the Cup. On 15th April 2019, BCCI will announce their 15-men squad. As of now, New Zealand is the only country that has announced its squad. Led by captain Kane Williamson, the Kiwis are definitely a side to be ready for. Other teams, including India, are monitoring their players, on the basis of their performance in various tournaments.
While most of the players are here in India, playing IPL, rest are practising elsewhere. Pakistan Cricket Team, not allowed to play IPL, have scheduled games with County sides Kent and Northamptonshire.
Sri Lanka Cricket Team has called their players back to make sure they compulsorily participate in an ongoing local tournament. Players who skip this for IPL will not be allowed to play the World Cup 2019.
India is currently looking for a stable No.4 batsman, who can come to bat after the captain Virat Kohli. Few names have come out, like Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, and many more. This World Cup might be the last one for Captain Cool (ex-captain) Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Indian players and fans, thus, want India to win this World Cup especially for Mahi.
Australia would look forward to retain their title of the "World Champions" , while South Africa would pray not to choke and bottle their chances down. England would want to win their first World Cup, that too at home. New Zealand is all set to show its mettle. No matter who wins, one thing is sure, Fans will not lose. Cricket will not lose.
The moment IPL gets over, people will take a break to get their breath back. Because now true rivalries will come out. Find your crackers before 30th May 2019, don't let your neighbour celebrate Kohli's 100 before you.
