SATISFACTION: A NEVER ENDING JOURNEY

HOLA AMIGOS!! It’s around 6’o clock in the morning. For those of us who get up at this time; can you hear the chirping of birds?!?! AWESOME NA!! I woke up fresh so I just thought of articulating some of my views on one of the important ingredients of motivation i.e. SATISFACTION.

What is Satisfaction?

Satisfaction is a term we have often heard of but most of us fail to apply it in our real life. In simple words, the feeling of satisfaction is another name for a sense of completeness and fulfillment. All of us, in our lives, strive for a stage in our lives where we are completely satisfied with all that we have done and we do not need anything more. In psychology, this term is referred to as self-actualization.

However, this stage cannot be reached. We, as humans, have a mind that always wants more. Even if we feel satisfied, at one point in time, with all that we have, we will always have that one person who will own something else. This automatically creates a sensation of jealousy within us and we feel the urge to own the same item. This sensation of always wanting more creates a sense of hollowness within us. It also tends to create a sense of anxiety where we are extremely bugged up by our needs.

What we need to do?

What we need to do is to learn to be satisfied and happy with what we have. For this, a major step that must be carried out is focusing on the positives rather than getting distracted by negatives. We all have a lot of friends, some of whom will be very rich. We look at their clothes or their expensive watches and wish to own the same. What I would suggest to you is that when you face this craving, stop for a minute and think of a parentless child who is there on the road, crying for food. You are lucky enough to have parents, food, clothes, and shelter.

Further measures:

Another aspect of this is that you need to be a little more understanding. Satisfaction is not just based on materialistic aspects. It is also based on the kinds of people we are surrounded by. Most of us seek satisfaction in the relationships that we follow, be it parents, siblings, couple or any other relationship. The core value you need to follow is the act of understanding. If you don’t seem to value or understand the other’s point of view, you can never be satisfied with your relation.

Finally, you need to learn to take up your responsibilities. When we get stuck in a bad or an unpleasant situation, we tend to point fingers towards someone else and not accept our faults. What we need to do is take up the responsibility, analyze the situation and act according to it. What this does is that it helps to gain a positive aspect towards the entire situation and we feel proud and satisfies to have taken this up.

SATISFACTION IS A FEELING WE AIM TO ACHIEVE, BUT CANNOT FULLY ACHIEVE IT EVER. REMEMBER, IT Is A PART OF YOUR LIFE, IT IS NOT YOUR LIFE

HAVE A NICE DAY AMIGOS!!!
