“If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it’s lethal.”
-Paulo Coelho
Travelling, according to me, is a very intimate affair. People travel for many reasons – to relieve stress, for work, to meet their friends or family and loads of other reasons. I am very much a beach person and I always need Vitamin ‘Sea’ to revitalize myself from time to time.
Phuket and Krabi had been on my bucket-list for a long time and choosing between the two of them was a tough choice, I must say! Both the places haul exotic beaches which makes it even more difficult for a traveler to arrive at a decision. If you are stuck between Phuket and Krabi, the best way to decide is to look into what kind of traveler you are and what type of holiday you are looking forward to spend. Here are some points which can help you decide.
1.Beaches
·Phuket has almost over 30 beaches to choose from with Kata Beach, Freedom Beach, Kata Noi Beach and Ya Nui Beach being the best of the lot. Most of them boast soft white sand and clear blue seas making the atmosphere idyllic. The only letdown for me was the excessive number of people found on the beach, especially during the peak times.
·Krabi is what a traveler would claim to be a paradise on earth. With its limestone cliffs and small coves, it is the perfect place for an ideal, serene getaway.
2.Accommodations
·Phuket has been on the travel list of people for a long time. As a result, it has far more hotels and resorts with a lot more facilities to choose from.
·Krabi is still somewhat a virgin location which makes the count of hotels and facilities a little less compared to that of Phuket. This also makes the hotels cheaper, so if you are on a tight budget, Krabi is your location.
3.Scenery
·Phuket being a tourist hub has fancy infrastructure, bigger roads and shopping malls which have covered parts of nature. You can still find hidden beaches but to get there you will have to drive a bit or take a boat.
·Krabi boasts abundant jungles, splendid seascapes and not to forget, the majestic limestone structures (who doesn’t want some exotic sunset-clad pictures for their Instagram handle)!
4.Attractions and Nightlife
·Phuket showcases beautiful temples, colorful streets, high quality nightclubs and countless beer bars. So if you are looking forward to hopping and shopping along with holidaying, Phuket is your destination.
·Krabi has an abundance of natural wonders. The beaches, forests, coastlines, even party venues are located alongside the beach. I do not want to be partial, but sipping your drink right by the lapping waves is surely a splendid feeling.
To conclude, Phuket and Krabi both are wonderful options; which place to go depends completely on what kind of vacation you wish to spend. Phuket is a wonderful place if you wish to have a fun-filled, colorful vacation with your friends, family or partner. Krabi will be the option if you want to spend some leisure time with your better half or family (especially if you are planning your honeymoon) with not many faces to see and connect with nature in a splendid way.
