Competing for excellence in this materialistic world, we have forgotten the essence of life. We have programmed ourselves to compromise with our ‘TODAY’ in pursuit of a better ‘TOMORROW’, a tomorrow none has witnessed, a tomorrow that is as uncertain as India qualifying for the FIFA world cup.
Today, everything we do, we do it keeping in mind the repercussions it would have on our future. We are scared to take risks, scared of losing the boring, monotonous but a “SAFE” carrier option, scared to test our own potentials. People have obliterated the significance of living in the moment.
We are so intrigued by the idea of a better future that half the world is suffering from Chrono phobia – the fear of future. we need to learn to find happiness beyond the monumental life events, in petty things like the blossom of a flower, the first monsoon shower or the sight of a cow giving birth to a calf.
We need to learn to soak in the most of ‘today’ – the smell, the sound, the emotions and everything beyond. Humans need to understand the importance of every moment and appreciate the mere existence of it. We ought to smile and accept things as they come our way. We need to let go of our ‘then’ to be able to enjoy our ‘now’.
The mutual rule of give and take applies to life as well. The more we appreciate it, the more we enjoy it, the more worthwhile it would be. So it’s high time that we stop existing and start living.
