Fear has always been an unpleasant feeling triggered by the perception of danger, real or imagined. Fear is always uncomfortable and crippling. It dictates the actions you take and has a strong effect on your mind and body. Fear of failing, fear of not living up to the expectations cause people to avoid risk of any kind and to reject opportunity when it is presented to them. They thus fail to take any chances at all thereby limiting their growth.

We fear loss of love, rejection, embarrassment, criticism and what not. Fear is an emotion that undermines our happiness and can hold us back throughout our lives. Confront your fears. As your fears grow smaller, your confidence grows. Your fears lose their control over you. In contrast, when you back away from fear, it grows bigger. Expose yourself to your fear. If you aren't ready to face your fears, you probably won't transcend them. Unless you enter a swimming pool, your fear of water won't fade.

Everything demands some time, getting out of fear would too. Be aware of your fears, identify them. Learning to deal with fear is all about putting your negative thoughts in perspective. Fear is pretty normal. At times, it is also helpful as you work harder in order to succeed. It depends on how your mind works. It might sound skeptical but if your mind takes fear as a source of motivation then fear is good. But if it keeps you stuck then certainly it isn't.

Don't let fear hold you back. It were Mark Twain's words - Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear. Transform fear into action. Don't let your fear of what could happen make nothing happen.
