She dwelled among the lilies;
An unusual place for a tulip to be-
A fresh poison every day and each week,
Streams down her veins only to make her more bleak.
I'm a sunflower-
I dance with the wind and twist with the sun,
Someone too happy as in actual fairytale land!
As I twist slow and wave every day
She seems to be so happy and gay,
But at nights I can hear her weep,
Her muffled screams intensify as the lilies creep!
I wish I could do more than just wave,
Entwine our leaves and save her day
And whisper "I'll stay".
But I'm too naive to act out,
Too dependent to be on my own.
Yet I'll wave each day
To make sure she's okay.
