A bastard son. A crow. A wannabe wildling. Lord Commander. A dead man. A man back from the dead. The King in the North. A wolf. A dragon.

For someone who knows nothing, that’s quite a life to have lived. (twice)
There are some pertinent questions left unanswered about his character as the show ends. Here’s how I soothed my mind.

Why was he brought back to life?
Most people thought that the reason he was brought back to life by the Lord of Lightwas to kill the Night King. And most of them were disappointed that he didn’t. And heaven knows he tried ( thrice). And failed.

But I think his purpose was to well..just bring together the North. Without him(and Sansa), North wouldn’t have had a united front against the Night King. The North Remembered, thanks to Jon Snow/Aegon Targaryen. It was because of him people understood the serious threat, vis a vis, The army of the Dead. Beric Dondarrion was bought back half a dozen times, only to save Arya that once. I think Jon made most of his journey back from the dead. So give the brooding guy a break.

The chaos about him petting Ghost

Okay. He didn’t pet his dog-wolf. Get over it. It’s true, chaos is a ladder. And all fans climbed on it, one repost after the other.

And for everyone who asks

What was the point of making him a Targaryen-Stark if he wasn't gonna sit on the Iron Throne?
I would have been disappointed if he had .According to me, the finale was about bringing an end to Patriarchy and Nepotism, and giving a way to Merit and Opinion.

Yes sure, Jon has a lot of merit, but I personally never thought of him as a ruler. The fact that he said “ I don’t want it” countless times in this season just affirmed my perspective.

Although, he always seemed like the poster boy for the ideal leader, the traditional hero, the twisted minds of the people Westeros won’t bear well with a good two shoes King.

Also we all know, that a Stark doesn’t do well in the South.
(If you ask about Bran, well..he’s something else now.)
And I think it was a fitting ending for his character where he can be with people he can trust. Where he can be the shield to guard the realms of men. Till his watch ends.
