2. Shaniwarwada – Maharashtra

Commended for its architectural inventiveness, this fort established in the esteem of Peshwa Bajirao, in the year 1732 has many untold stories. This place depicts a tale of betrayal in a relationship. According to the tales, in 1773, Narayanrao; the successor to the throne of the Peshwa Dynasty; was brutally murdered by his uncle Raghunathanrao and aunt Anandibai. The spine chilling cries of the prince’s ghost can be heard, amidst the dark fort’s nights. The wails of Kaka Mala Wachawa(Uncle, Save Me!); can be heard during the nights. Also, the palace caught a dreadful fire in the year 1828, which seethed for seven days. It is said that the weeping sounds of the people who lost their lives, can still be heard.

3. Dumas Black Sand Beach, Gujarat

Anyone would preferably avoid a stroll on the Dumas beach after dusk. This beach of black and silver water, situated in Surat, is one of the most haunted beaches of India. The lively dawn ambiance dims with the setting sun. It is believed that this place was once a Hindu Cremation Ground, and now it’s a place for the eerie hitchhiker.
