Your Savior Complex

According to Psychology Today , Savior Complex is a psychological construct which makes a person feel the need to save other people. This person has a strong tendency to seek people who desperately need help and to assist them, often sacrificing their own needs for these people.

Don't get us wrong, having a big heart is not a flaw nor is it a weakness. It is a strong attribute because people that care give others hope. But, this good intention becomes a detention when people start to lose themselves while trying to help others or when they no longer have time to sit and think about their personal well being.

So, here's one for all those that care a little too much.

A Lost Saint

I can't tell

if you are real or not.

full disclosure,

I am distraught.

You are such an irony,

Never practising what you preach.

''But, would you ever,

come around for me?"

Your little heart,

it once was yours

and now,

It just endures.

What you forget to tell it everyday,

is that you're not responsible for their pain.

You are not the only way

to cure all of their complains.

So, tell me

what is it going to be?

For without your saving aid,

I promise, no one will fade.

Your sufferings,

they slowly faint.

yet you stand still

with no halo, a lost saint.

It's almost as if

you have a savior complex.

falling off a cliff,

yet looking for someone to help next.

"I t's nothing"

Is what you say,

every other day.

With that, you slip away.
