Understanding Kendrick Lamar has been one of my toughest study and even now it's hard for me to encrypt his whole lyrics. Kendrick Lamar is obviously a lyrical genius. His flow is amazing, his wordplay is amazing moreover what everyone like in him is the story telling.

Kendrick Lamar was born in Compton, California in 1987. Kendrick's parents moved to Compton from Chicago due to the gang violence but during the 90s while Kendrick grew up,Compton also grew up into a whole hood. But what's good about Kendrick is that instead of participating,he chose to commentate. He had been a great student in his early life and graduated from high school with an 'A' grade. He released his first mixtape when he was 16 yrs old called K.Dot which was a local hit. He made a total of 5 mixtapes and an EP which are not at all good compared to his new albums. Even his style has been different, the nasal rapping isn't seen in his mixtapes.

In 2009, Kendrick released his album called Kendrick Lamar EP which is a pretty good album and has sold over 1 million records. Kendrick is a religious person and through his early works too we can see the shallow religious references made. His first studio album Section .80 was released in 2011 which was the most serious thing that Kendrick had had made compared to his early works. Section .80 is a concept album which talks about two girls who were disillusioned by men and end up sleeping together due to their anger towards opposite sex. He had a perfect balance of consciousness and mainstream appeal. Section.80 is the album which put forward Kendrick to be the strongest and most interesting rapper. The album was critically well acclaimed. Many people thought that this was Kendrick's best and that he couldn't come up with anything next. But that's when the coming year itself Kendrick dropped his album,Good kid maad city.

If section .80 talked about modern morality then Good Kid,Maad City is putting a magnifying glass infront of section.80. The album is deeply personal and mostly autobiographical. Through this album Kendrick explores God,crime, family, love and youth. This is the album which came out to prove that Kendrick is one of the greatest rapper alive. Through this album Kendrick came out to be known as the James Joyce of Hip Hop and his Good Kid,Maad City had been once taught in the Augustan University.

There are obviously more reasons to show that Kendrick is the greatest rapper alive, but I'll reach to 'To Pimp A Butterfly' and 'DAMN' in the second part of the K.Dot. So stay tuned if you don't want to miss an article on the greatest rapper alive.
