India is the emerging capital of diseases. Along with the bacterias, germs and unhealthy lifestyle, self-diagnosis is the major factor which is making a large number of people prone to non-terminal diseases. There are many diseases which have common symptoms. Even taking the headache lightly may also become dangerous sometimes. The medicine taken by you can cure the ailings temporarily but not the whole disease.

Self-diagnosis can harm in many ways. You can think if somebody took a medicine for getting relief from pain in his/her bones and he/she don't know that it may be a symptom of bone cancer, bone infection or tumours. The pain killer can surely terminate the pain but they missed a hint. After some months the symptoms will be more than one and no medicine will be able to cure, then the person will definitely rush towards the doctor. At this time you are the patient of a disease which would have been cured earlier.

Self-diagnosis is common to do when we are reading the health magazine, medical dictionary and reading something on the internet. Whenever we read symptoms of any disease we start relating ourselves to those symptoms. Sometime you may fall in the situation where you will feel all the symptoms familiar to your present condition. The mental agony begins then.

A Major benefit of seeking professional health care (mental or otherwise) is that a professional is often in a better position to accurately diagnose your problem, and point you towards the best treatments available for helping you get better than you are. Diagnoses are identified by their symptoms, which are the complaints that people make when talking to their doctors.

Only a doctor or similar trained and experienced mental health professional is qualified to make a true diagnosis and therefore to make treatment recommendations. Diagnoses are complex and difficult to make correctly.

When you self-diagnose, you are essentially assuming that you know the subtleties that diagnosis constitutes. Another danger of self-diagnosis is that you may think that there is more wrong with you than there actually is.

Thus, self-diagnosis can have tremendous negative repercussions on the patient. For this reason, while reading is helpful and informative, it is always best to discuss your impressions with a doctor before you decide on the treatment you want.
