As usual, we all were very excited for the company coming to our campus again like every year.

Salary that it wanted to offer was around 7-8 lpa. Ofcourse, the diversity of profile it showed to us was vast. I was very much excited to grab Technology-Risk Analyst profile.

We had to fill our bio in the the Google form, and also to check which post we wanted to take if we get selected, from amongst Deloitte US-India and Deloitte US. I chose the latter one.

Day Zero.

We sat in the auditorium and listened to this wonderful lady ( alumni of our college) who briefed us about the company. All ears were evenly concentrated.

Shortlisting Round.

Only those could give the test who had overall GPA > 6.5 . There was some info flying around the campus that the shortlisting criteria that Deloitte selects is pretty much different from rest of the companies. An aptitude+logic+English online round. But, those people are not selected who scores the highest or below the threshold. Because seniors said that high scorers are more inclined towards leaving the company in later years which would be a bad sign for the company. Also, low scorers are ofcourse not on greener side. So, the left ones were the real ones. Not too low and not too high scorers but somewhere in between.

We students made sure that we have to get some answers wrong to be in the slab. Sitting arrangement was according to our pre plan. We three ( Mukul- Subrat- Me ) sat inside the computer lab and sitting position in the same respective order. Subrat in between because he felt he was weak in Synonyms-Antonyms-Passage. So he could get through with the help of the other 2.

Test started. We started solving our paper as well as of each other's. Questions were not similar.

Result: Me & Mukul got in while Subrat got out. Luck! Around 90 were selected overall out of some 700 (may be).

Group Discussion Round.

We were clearly indicated that resume should be concise ( 1-page preferably). GD would be in English medium. While for interview, one has to be good in communication irrespective of language.

I prepared my resume from an online site. Great boundaries/outlines. Very soothing to eyes.

13 groups were made of 6-7 each. We went for our respective alloted panels.

Our topic was "Technology from Abroad " (something like this). We were give a rough piece of paper and 2 mins to write points and then discuss amongst ourselves. 2 mins started and my pen stopped working after writing 3 points. My paper was almost left blank. But I had my points ready in my mind.

Members with me were from different batches. So ,there was no coordination expected. But I was in utter shock when we all started behaving decently and gave each other chances starting from corner seat.

Also, to my surprise two of the members started speaking in Hindi in between and I got a setback there. (Who doesn't like speaking in Hindi anyways?)

Result: I was out. Only one girl from our group got selected. (Hindi speaking lady)

Simultaneously from the other panel where our jugaadu (Mukul) was struggling, I got to know later that only 1 person was speaking there and rest all were being kept quiet by him. Not Fair. Result is even more unfairer. Only that 1 person got selected. I don't know what the panelists were looking for in the members.

I lost my trust on the companies.

More so, after I faced BYJU's GD. (…to be in the next Wrytup).

Naseeb hai boss !
