Before the era of Netflix, Disney was booming in every household with children. Disney is well known for its amicable kids-centred TV shows and fairy tale movies. Even though the motive of Disney seemed to popularize a theory that everybody will eventually get a happy ending, all their main characters either seem to be orphans or later would be orphaned. Adults who watched these children movies with their kids or just for some light-hearted comedy were keen enough to decode all their hidden secrets. Disney is all about happy-happy spirits but things are about to get gloomy with these four dark secrets that Disney hid from you.
Everybody loves the charming royal sisters of Arendelle, Anna and Elsa. In the movie “Frozen”, it is shown that the sisters are orphaned at a very young age after their Royal parents drown in the sea due to a raging storm. What if the Royal monarchs of Arendelle didn’t die, but instead were washed ashore on a remote island with talking chimps?! Not only they were stranded in the God-knows-where-island, but eventually the Queen gave birth to a baby boy named “Tarzan”. Sound familiar? We all know what happens next, the parents are killed by a leopard and the orphaned baby Tarzan was brought up by a family of chimps. This would make Tarzan the brother of Anna and Elsa and also the heir to the throne. Another crazy theory states that Rapunzel is the cousin of Anna and Elsa. Royal parents equal to Royal relatives. That is why Rapunzel and Flynn Rider attended the coronation of Elsa. This would also mean that Tarzan is not only the brother of Anna and Elsa but also the cousin of Rapunzel.
Remember the Evil Queen from Snow White? Well, she isn’t hard to forget. She is the most ionic villain of the whole of Disney era. What if the Evil Queen faked her death and fled once and for all after Snow White had her happy ending with Prince Charming? And what if the Evil Queen is Mother Gothel who plucked baby Rapunzel from her royal cradle? After all, both the characters were obsessed with beauty and youth and also withhold some kind of magic power. They both don’t want any younger model to surpass their beauty. So, they might be the same person and not two different individuals. If you take a closer look, both the Evil Queen and Mother Gothel share a lot of similar features and mysteriously, the same dagger. Yes, the dagger the Evil Queen presented the Huntsman to off Snow White was found in the possession of Mother Gothel. We also saw that Mother Gothel is actually old, and used a mystical flower to remain young.
We all had fantasized about flying off to the Netherlands with Peter Pan. Will it sound crazy if I told you that Peter Pan is nothing but an illusion? An angel of death who had come to guide children to heaven after their death? Even though this theory sounds absurd, it actually makes sense. Peter Pan doesn’t age and no one ages after death. And Netherlands does sound and look like Heaven. Only your spirit out of your earthly body can fly and play in Netherlands aka Heaven. Captain Hook would definitely pass for Mr. Devil ready to capture and torment innocent souls. So the next time someone knocks at your window in the middle of the night, promising you an adventure, beware of them!
“Up” is such a heart-warming movie about an old man wanting to take his wife’s dream trip to Paradise Falls after her death as a way of paying her a tribute. Ellie and Carl had a wonderful life together; like all romantic flicks, they met, fell in love but unfortunately Ellie passed away. Carl decides to go alone on a trip they both had planned back when his wife was alive. What if Carl was dead all along? What if the trip to Paradise falls was a trip to Paradise itself? And the little boy Russell, he is no one but an angel helping him complete his journey to earn a set of wings. And this breaks our heart a little more.
