Mount Abu is a hill station located in the Aravalli Range in the district of Sirohi in Rajasthan, near the Gujrat border. A rocky plateau is formed by these hills. This is the only hill station in Rajasthan. Being the only hill station in the state of desert, it has been a popular retreat place for the residents as a place away from the desert heat. The highest peak on the mountain is Guru Shikhar, which is about 1,722 m above the sea level.

The cool atmosphere and the lush green surroundings make it a major tourists attraction spot within the state. The world famous tourists destination, the Dilwara Jain temple, which is one of the most stunning place to visit in Mount Abu. This place also has a spot famous in the Hindu mythology, a place where the Sage Vashistha retired. Now, this place is a great tourist attraction place, it is a hill station which is blend with various flavours of Rajasthan. The setting sun scene on Mount Abu is a notable tourists attraction. This place is really worth visiting.

1)Dilwara temple

Dilwara Temple is one of the most popular Jain Pilgrimage attraction. It is the finest temple known for its extraordinary architecture, marvellous marble stone carving. Many experts consider this architecture superior to the that of the Taj Mahal. The minutely carved pillar and ceilings are amazing. This temple complex consists of 5 temples which are unique to the Jain culture in India, named as, Vimal Vasahi, Luna vasahi, Pithalhar, Parshavnath and Mahavir Swami.

2) Gurushikhar

It is the highest point of the Aravalli Ranges. It is famous for its temple of Guru Dattatreya as an incarnation of the Hindu Deities. It is the wonderful place to get lost in the enticing plot amidst the enchanting surroundings. It is named “Guru Shikhar”, after Dattatreya. It is at a height of 1,722 metres above the sea level.

3) Nakki lake

It is the very popular spot among the tourists. It is very ancient and sacred lake. According to the Hindu Legend, this lake was dug out by the God by simply using his ‘Nails’ for protection from Bashkail Rakshash. Hence, the lake is named after this story. This place is a great picnic spot. There are plenty of hotels, restaurants located near the lake. There is a fountain in the lake which adds to its natural beauty.
