Six thinking hats is a novel written by Edward de Bono in which he highlightedthe different types of human ways of thinking. In this book he highlighted thesix different types of thoughts and thinkings one must have before taking anydecision or during a meeting. This book is merely for those who are working ina business industry and have to go with presentations and meetings in theirday to day life.Six different types of hats mean six different ways of thinking, where oneshould wear one hat a time and give his opinion according to that. The sixdifferent colors of hats are BLACK, GREEN, WHITE, RED, YELLOW, and BLUE.Though the detailed explanations of these hats are very long, I will be
highlighting a few key points on these hats.


1-THE WHITE HAT

White hat thinking refers to information we have and what all facts weknow about the topic. So, when the white hat thinking is in processeverybody in the meeting room needs to provide the all sorts ofinformation about the topic which is going to be discussed. White hatthinking is mostly exercised in the start of the discussion.

2- THE RED HAT

Red had thinking gives you an opportunity to express your feelings,emotions, and inclinations without any need to explain them or to justifythem. When red hat thinking is in process people are advised to givetheir feelings about the topic of the discussion.

3-THE BLACK HAT

The black hat is the most used of all hats. Black hats refer to be critical,cautious, danger and so on. When black hat is under discussion peopleare advised to give possibilities of danger or unprofitable events. Blackhat thinking is exercised to find out the challenges going to occur in near future.

4-THE YELLOW HAT

Yellow hat thinking is exercised to think about the positives and benefitsof the topic of discussion. Yellow hat thinking is harder when compared to black hat thinking.


5-THE GREEN HAT

Under the green hat we put forward new ideas. Under it we bring outoptions and alternatives. Here you are allowed to put forward possibilities.

6-THE BLUE HAT
Once you wear the blue hat you are no longer thinking about thesubject, instead you think about the thinking needed to explore thatsubject. The blue hat thinking also referred to as thinking about thinking.For a successful discussion one has to go through all these ways ofthinking which will help in exploring more about the topic by providing new ideas.
