Plastic is nowadays used everywhere, it is found in all circles of life, from jugs of water to polybags to apparatus parts; from water and sewage pipe lines to water tanks, to baths, electric fittings, screws, nut-fasteners, and many others.Plastic is accessible in such a significant number of variations that it is practically difficult to interface one kind of plastic to another. Where on one hand we see the low-thickness polythene sacks used carry our day to day products like vegetables, clothes, on the other hand, we have high quality plastic used in toys, water bottles etc. But this use of plastic is harming our environment. We will discuss some key factors how plastic is harming environment and need to banned.

It takes around 1000 years for plastic to break down and thus it is a changeless pollutant. Plastics are made out of long-chain polymers of carbon and are created from generally oil based goods. Decaying happens when living beings like microscopic organisms separate a cell structure and feed on it.Disposal of plastics are always an issue, you cannot dispose it into soil as it cannot get decomposed and if you will burn it, it will release harmful gases and will pollute the environment. If we talk about seas and oceans so nearly tons of plastic waste gets poured into oceans every year which floats on the upper layer of the water and becomes a barrier for oxygen and sunrays to go inside the water that makes breathing difficult for aquatic animals.

Every day around millions and tons of plastic waste is generated in many major cities of India and when these wastes are burnt, they produce lots of global warming gases and pollute the environment, Wildlife, Rivers, And Agricultural land.Plastic has become an evil to our society and keeping on harming the environment is not an option. If we want to move forward from plastic, we need to take various steps. It is something that needs to happen gradually and slowly. Industries should indulge in recycling of plastic and putting it to good use, like Hindustan Unilever has launched the process of plastic disposal & recycling leading to no adverse impact on environment. So, use of plastic needs to be banned and it should be replaced by some other polymers like fibers, Teflon etc.
