Population of the world is more than 7 billion and out of which 1.3 billion people belong to India. This mean India holds one- seventh of the population of the world. It also means that every 7th person on the planet earth is Indian. There are around 192 countries in the world and from them India is the second most populated country after China. Experts say India will overtake China’s population by 2030 if the current trend keeps going on.If we compare the Indian population with that of China’s, we will find out that China is almost 3 times bigger than India in terms of area so China can manage even a population of 1.5 billion people and on the other hand land area of India is very less.If we look at the various developed nations of the world like United States of America, Russia, England, Japan we find out that they have a very smaller number of people in their countries when compared to India.

Poverty is the biggest problem of our country and the population is the main cause of it. Because our resources are limited, we have limited land to grow food grains and so the production would also be limited but on the other hand demand is increasing year by year because of the increasing population. Sadly, we as a nation are not able to fulfill everyone’s hunger demand that results in 20% of the Indian public not getting food even twice a day.Another major problem in India is Unemployment which is also a result of increasing population. As number of jobs are limited and applicants for that jobs are way too high, this results in very tight competition for getting a job. Government and companies can only fill required posts and remaining people are unemployed.

Because of the increasing population, one has to face trouble everywhere from getting stuck in the traffic to not getting seats in colleges to not be able to find empty beds in government hospitals etc.One of the main reasons behind constantly increasing India’s population is lack of any strict government laws. And now this is the time that the government needs to think about this upcoming threat and make some strict laws regarding population control like two child policy, not giving subsidies to those families who will have more than 2 children etc. And Even government needs to spread awareness among the people about the threat of rapidly increasing population and how we can control this.
