Dear Bharatbasis,
There were three flags that went up during the Naval Mutiny before the independence, one was that of the Congress, one of the Muslim League, and one of the Communists. In the cake sharing, Congress got India and the Muslim League got Pakistan. Where was the left? On the streets.
After seven decades, we are still on the streets. We are ousted from the parliament by saffron and green hooligans, our vanguard parties have been shattered to pieces. Either you look at us in curiosity as who the hell we are, or you grin at our so-called signboard existence. But we will be there. For you.
Yes, we know a day will come when your stomach will start to hurt you. Yes, we know a day will come when you will see our gods been replaced by millionaires. And, yes, we know there will be a day when you will understand that a temple or a mosque or a church does not pay your bills to Ambani Corporation. And, that day, will you wake up from your naps and take the streets. It is as it said, it's not just about the parliament. They might rest there, but we will be there on the streets, for every Asifa, for every Najib and for every Akhlaq. Join us that day, on the streets.
And we will avenge. We will avenge the murder of every free-thinker. We will avenge the rape of every woman and child. We will avenge every misdeed that has been done to our beloved democracy.
We will. It is said that Communists have no country. Yes, we have a motherland. And for me it is India. It is said that the Communists have no religion. Yes, we have, and it is humanity.
Tough days are coming. But survive through them. Cause the night is darkest before dawn.
With love,
Left.
