Social Media- A Blessing Or A Curse?

The Internet has been termed as one of the greatest inventions of all time. The Invention of the internet leads to the birth of social media.Over the years social media has evolved exponentially and has created various platforms for the users. I lot of people find social media a blessing while there are some who find it a curse. It is a very famous saying that

"EVERYTHING COMES WITH ITS OWN ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES"

so does social media. It is the individual who has to decide whether it is an advantage or a disadvantage. Let us see some of the advantages of social media-

1)Communication and Connectivity-

Communication has always been the key to social media. Social media has proved that distance is just a number when it comes to communication. No matter how far you are you can easily communicate with each other. Also in today's world social media has restored connectivity very efficiently.

2)Social Media as a source of income-

Social media is a source of income for millions of people. Right from people working for big social media companies to various different content creators, social media has place for everyone. It is a platform where various individuals can show their skills and talent and earn some money as well.

3)Fun and Relaxation-

There is no limit of entertainment on social media. Right from funny videos to hilarious memes, social media has got everything. Nowadays social media has become the biggest source of entertainment leaving behind telivisons.

These are some of the important use of social media.No let us look as the drawbacks of it-
1)False information-

Some people have been amplifying every bit of information they have been receiving. I guess they have mastered the game of Chinese whisper. Fake news spreads more faster then the true ones. This is very dangerous and cause a lot of touble.

2)Bubble formation-

I know a lot of you are confused about bubble formation. It will be cleared out in a minute. You always watch arguments of the people with whom you already agree, you like and share and what social media does is recommends you more videos of the same type. Now this creates a bubble, but as well all know that there are two sides to a story and you need to know both to make a judgement. The second side of the argument is never exposed to you because you have liked or shared (or simply watched) videos of the other side. This is very dangerous as this might lead to the truth never being exposed to the people.

3)ADDICTION AND DANGEROUS TRENDS-

A lot of people are addicted to social media and just can't live without it. Right from waking up in the morning to going back to sleep, some people are so addicted to social media that they just can't stop using it. To much of social media can cause distraction from goals, harmful impact on brain as well as can cause various health issues as well. Family time and family outings has also been reduced. Another thing that drives people crazy are trends. Just for some followers people have been doing some dangerous trends that can cost them their lives.

Now the real question lies whether social media is a blessing or not? Social media is definitely a blessing when it's disadvantages are turned into advantages. By going in depth of every argument, researching and knowing both the sides of the story, by ignoring and not supporting false information and by limiting the time of social media use we can turn social media into a blessing.
