What comes in your mind when you think of heaven, Switzerland or Kashmir? If any of them, then pack your bags and be ready for your next trip where you can find serenity like Kashmir, beauty like Switzerland and cleanliness like any other European countryside. That too inside India, shocked right?

Welcome to Sikkim! Residing under the Himalayas is the paradise on earth. Second-smallest state of India and smallest in terms of population, this state has many things to offer. From mighty Kanchenjunga to bustling streets of Gangtok-which is also known as gambling capital of northeast, this tiny state has capability to fulfil everyone's need.

Third highest peak of the world- Mt. Kanchenjunga!
This state also boasts of the highest sanitation cover which means this state has the highest percentage of household having sanitary toilets, which also makes this state as the "first open defecation state" of India according to a Swachhta (cleanliness) survey conducted by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO).

On October 2018, this state came under global coverage when it won the prestigious Future policy gold award from UN surpassing other countries like Denmark. This is not only a matter of pride for Sikkim but also for the whole country. Use of pesticides and insecticides are strictly prohibited under state law.

One of the main sources of income for Sikkimese is tourism. So, in order to boost that, government of Sikkim has sanctioned some projects for example the highest skywalk in the world, and the first of its kind in India at south Sikkim!

So, we have many examples of perfection in our own country like Sikkim which can become a model state for other states. Following the footsteps of this Himalaya state can lead the whole country into the right path of development.
