Holi is high spirited Indian feeling. This year Holi will be celebrated on the 21st of March. Holi is commonly known as the festival of colours but for those who are trying bhang this holi for the first time holi means bhang and rang.
Tip: Instead of saying cheers with your glass of thandai say 'Jai Bhole' and then enjoy your glass of thandai.
Bhang is prepared from cannabis, which is added as an ingredient in various food and drinks during holi particularly. People usually prefer bhang thandai which is a blend of milk, almond, cannabis and various other nuts. But let's face it bhang is another sasta nasha in the Indian market. So here are some dos and don'ts before eating bhang.
Refrain yourself from having it if you are a heart patient or asthmatic.
Never mix bhang with alcohol. Mixing bhang with alcohol can cause fatal results.
Drink plenty of water. Bhang causes dehydration, so to keep yourself hydrated drink water.
Don't drink bhang on an empty stomach. Having some food before taking bhang or diluting bhang before drinking it helps in neutralising its effect.
Never purchase bhang from an unauthorised shop or vendor. Buy bhang from government authorised shops only.
Don't consume it if you are alone and at a new place.
Now some dos and don'ts after having bhang.
If you feel like you are having a headache after consuming bhang, never try a painkiller, it'll worsen the situation.
Don't drive after consuming bhang. Since it is also a type of intoxication the same rules are followed as of alcohol or other intoxicated drinks.
Try to stay in an open area to avoid claustrophobic feeling due to bhang.
Keep these in mind and enjoy Holi to the fullest.
