The Afghanistan Cricket Team

Afghanistan is a country in South-Central Asia bordered mainly by Pakistan and Iran. The Afghanistan Cricket Team is the 12th Test cricket playing nation which is a full member. Although Afghanistan is playing cricket since the 19th century, it is only in recent years that the team has started achieving success. The team is on the 7th rank in Twenty20, leaving behind five other teams. Talking about records, the team holds one for making the highest score ever in the T20 matches, a 278-3 against Ireland.

The team qualified to be a part of the ICC World Cup in 2015 and is proud to do so. The people feel proud of their team simply because they are able to compete in the world cup against so many powerful teams, and are heard saying that winning or losing doesn't matter to them, they are glad they got a chance to be able to compete and be a part of the Cricket World Cup.

Currently, in the ICC World Cup 2019, the team is in the last position. Although, in the recent game of the team with India, it performed quite well and was able to stop India to make a large score and India managed to score only 224 at a fall of 8 wickets and they bowled wonderfully. Even if they didn't win the game, their chase to the score was breathtaking and they played quite well and proved that they are a good team. The match was very exciting and people are saying it was the most exciting chase of the 2019 World Cup until now.

The team is being led by the captaincy of Rahmat Shah in the test matches, Gulbadin Naib in the ODIs, and Rashid Khan in the T20s.

1. Rashid Khan: He is a 20-year-old leg break googly style bowler and a leg-spinner. He became quite famous during the 2018 IPL when he played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He put a lot of match-winning efforts that were memorable in SRH's journey to the finals and gave quite a lot of contribution to the team. Due to his success at such a young age, he was retained for 9 crores in the 2019 edition.

2. Gulbadin Naib: The 28-year-old right-arm medium-fast bowler, Gulbain Naib is the captain of the Afghanistan Team in the world cup. He is a very good bowler and took two wickets in the recent match against India, including an important wicket of Kedar Jadhav.

3. Mohammad Nabi: Nabi is a 34-year-old efficient all-rounder, a right-hand middle-order batsman, and right-arm off spin bowler. He gave a very impressive performance in that match and scored 52 runs and contributed the most to the team's score and is being praised by fans for his performance.

After the India vs Afghanistan match, the Afghani fans were heard saying that they were glad for India's victory and that only to get a chance to play against India was enough for them. It shows how humble the team and the people are, and how thankful they are for everything. Even though they're losing, they surely have managed to win quite a lot of hearts.
