We are a wholesale manufacturer and the seller of Rakhi. Basically, it's a seasonal business and the entire family works for it. My mother and I, work from home. So yesterday my mother was supposed to make 22 dozens of Rakhis of a particular set of design. She knew that she had to make 22 dozens, she was also working accordingly. But today morning when we counted they were 11 dozens, half of what she was supposed to make. Now, all of us were a little surprised that why did this happen. But somewhere I was more of worried because I knew that she has been constantly thinking rather over thinking about something else in her mind while working.

So we live on the 2nd floor of the building. For a few days we have been facing a problem of leakage of water from the ceiling of one of the balconies of the house. My mother has already spoken about it to the Aunt living upstairs but she has not been able to or she may be careless to work on it but the problem has lasted for a week now. And this happens every year. So now my mother is worried. And she is constantly over thinking about it which is hampering her other activities. She lost the focus on what she was actually working while thinking and worrying about something she could not work upon. Due to which her mind was constantly disturbed and she had been making mistakes in all her activities. So I am wondering is this over thinking fine?

Now lets talk of the other side of the coin. We all the know Mr. Thomas Edison who invented the light bulb after 1000 failed attempts of inventing a bulb. Now my question is had he been able to invent and provide us with one of the most important inventions on this Earth if he had not been overthinking about it. He must have constantly thought about where was he going wrong all the time. Hence, he could invent a bulb because of his over thinking. So here we definitely can say over thinking is not just fine but required.

So my idea of writing this is not to put everyone in a dilemma. All I want to say is we need to decide upon the right and wrong thing to overthink as Mr. Sandeep Maheshwari once said in his session, “Identify between the right and the wrong and then overthink”. Because overthinking is not bad but on what you should devote your time and thoughts, deciding that is important.

Hereby, I conclude saying that over thinking can be a boon if done for the right thing and a curse if done for the wrong thing.
