Kotvaal Hi Chor Nikle To?

It’s funny to read news like this, isn’t it? It says that alcohol amounting to Rs. 1 lakhs was found in the house of the ASI of the district police station. It is believed that this lot is a part of a huge lot that he caught few days ago during checking which he carried to his own house. Earlier there was a saying in Hindi, “Ulta chor kotvaal ko daante” which means that the guilty (Chor) is blaming the innocent (Kotwal) one. But now I am wondering who the innocent one here is. Everybody seems to be guilty. And nobody even raises their voices against such incidents because they have become too common. And if someone tried to, people like these bring all the misfortune to them.

Now this cutting says that it has been 2 months where a society has been given with the connection of drinking water but they have been allotted with the water for only 4 days. When the society enquired about this with the the local corporator, he made several excuses like the water line has broken, the supply will start in 2 days which has not yet begun. When the society enquired to the Municipal Corporation, they came to know that there was yet no provision of a water tank with the government to supply them with water. In spite of paying enough of the taxes, if the people don’t get the water to drink, what should they do? Where should they go? No one can live without water.

This is really weird, we all have a problem with corruption and injustice around us but somewhere we are only the ones to encourage it. We don’t want to stand in the queue so we bribe and make things done at home, we pay extra for our undeserving children and steal the seats of a deserving student in some college and what not. We all know that somewhere we also have been corrupt in our actions and that is a major reason why we can’t take a stand against others.

Its high time when we all should become anti-corrupt because
