Let me tell you something today from my experience..............

Since childhood, I have been directed to study hard as it will help me to achieve my goals as it will award me in the articulation of my identity.

I am fortunate enough to be blessed with supportive parents who want to see their daughter as an independent woman. I always had been an average student till 8th standard. In 9th standard, I started understanding the concepts behind science and mathematics as a result of that I started scoring admirable.

Till 12th standard, I have never ever imagined that when I enter college my classmates would judge me on the basis of my marks, not on my qualities. I am a girl who doesn't posses any special talent of dancing, poetry, drawing and not even gifted with a melodious voice to sing. The only talent I have is my learning ability. I am a good learner.

It was like any other day of college, I was sitting with my friends in the college canteen having our tea and coffee as I forgot to mention that coffee is our canteen's specialty, I am 9 pointer and my friends too. Suddenly a few of our classmates joined us and started talking and they said " 9 pointers are just bookworms, all the jobs are grabbed by people who score less, why do you attend classes? Take extra sleep, enjoy your life, you all just study to get marks, PhD degree holders are good for nothing, they are the one who spoiled their lives by digging into books etc."

All these things used to hurt and there was atime when I started doubting my abilities. But with time I observed that these are the people who don't acknowledge how fortunate they are for the opportunities they have got. They are the one who cries at the eleventh hour before the exam and for not getting enough marks. They are the one who hides behind their shortcomings. I am fortunate that I have friends who appreciate my efforts and see my capabilities.

My father used to say "Beta, you don't have to listen to everyone and react to every situation, learn to ignore and move on as people who can't pursue something they complain and start blaming others instead of finding their own flaws and overcoming them. We are with you, just work hard". These words of my father always inspire me.

I still listen to negative people but I have learned the " Art to Ignore Negative people ".

Respecting each other is crucial which should be enlisted in everyone's moral code. You are the only one who can truly judge you and the people who know you. Don't waste your energy by reacting to every situation.

You are here to live, not to elaborate your actions to the people who don't want to listen.
